“We did some second-unit work in Abu Dhabi,” Horn indicated, “We have to give that the ‘Star Wars’-ian look, if I can use that as an adjective — we need to go to these places.”

He indicated that casting is almost complete, but Disney is not prepared to make any announcements.

Variety has reported that “Girls” actor Adam Driver was in talks to play the villain, while actors being considered for the lead role include Ed Speleers, John Boyega, Jesse Plemons, Matthew James Thomas and Ray Fisher.

The budget for Star Wars Episode VII will be somewhere in the neighborhood of $175 to $200 million, Horn said.

Episode VII is due to premiere on December 18th, 2015, with VIII and IX coming in 2017 and 2019 respectively. There will be two spin off movies released in 2016 and 2018.
