The bulk of Reeve’s fame is based on the 82 Craig Kennedy stories, published in Cosmopolitan magazine between 1910 and 1918. These were collected in book form; with the third collection, the short stories were stitched together into pseudo-novels. The 12-volume Craig Kennedy Stories came out in 1918; it reissued Reeve’s books-to-date as a matched set.

This Story is called The Forger. Someone has been forging and cashing checks. The bank thinks it is an inside job, and the two main suspects have disappeared. Kennedy discovers that the man is in disguise and plans to escape to South America on the next boat. However the only picture of the disguised man is in Chicago. The boat leaves in a few hours, can Kennedy discover the man’s identity and capture him before he can make good his escape?
