Bedtime Stories: The Merry Wives

Written by emiller on September 3, 2010 – 5:55 AM -

I love reading to my kids. I know some parents do not have the time to read to their children, or have problems reading. So I am offering bedtime stories, all for free.

This story is The Merry Wives from
THE PINK FAIRY BOOK Edited by Andrew Lang

This story is about 3 wives who each boast about how stupid their husbands are. When the price of a pint goes up, they decide to have a contest to see who has the stupidest husband. The winner would be able to drink free from then on. They then proceed to play tricks on each of their husbands. Who will turn out to be the stupidest?

This fairy tale is Rated G. It’s funny, although as a husband I am horribly offended.

Bedtime Stories: Princess Minon-minette

I love reading to my kids. I know some parents do not have the time to read to their children, or have problems reading. So I am offering bedtime stories, all for free.

This story is Princess Minon-minette from
THE PINK FAIRY BOOK Edited by Andrew Lang

This story is about a King who is raised by a fairy, so is kind of a jerk. He goes in search of a bride and finds Princess Minon-minette, who thinks he is no big deal. The Princess’s Fairy tells the king what he must do to win her heart, and the king goes off to do it. But the king is captured, and the princess declares war on the evil Iron King. Will the good king escape? Will the Princess win her war?

This fairy tale is Rated G. There are no murders or bloodiness, but there are some pretty advanced topics for a fairy tale, and it tends to wander at times.

Detective Stories: The Silent Bullet Ch9 – The Terror in the Air

Written by emiller on August 28, 2010 – 4:13 PM -

It’s an all new audiobook. The Silent Bullet, by Arthur B. Reeve.

Follow the adventures of Professor Craig Kennedy and his assistant Walter Jameson as they track down criminals scientifically.

From Wikipedia:
Arthur Benjamin Reeve (October 15, 1880 – August 9, 1936) was an American mystery writer. He is best known for creating the series character Professor Craig Kennedy, sometimes called “The American Sherlock Holmes,” and his Dr Watson-like sidekick Walter Jameson, a newspaper reporter, in eighteen detective novels. The bulk of Reeve’s fame is based on the 82 Craig Kennedy stories, published in Cosmopolitan magazine between 1910 and 1918. These were collected in book form; with the third collection, the short stories were stitched together into pseudo-novels. The 12-volume Craig Kennedy Stories came out in 1918; it reissued Reeve’s books-to-date as a matched set.

This Story is called Terror in the Air. A man is trying to use his new invention the “Gyroscope Stabilizer” to win a prize for his aeroplane, but two of his pilots have crashed and were killed. Can Kennedy figure out what is going wrongbefore the inventor dies as well? And what does Tesla have to do with it?
