Arthur Benjamin Reeve (October 15, 1880 – August 9, 1936) was an American mystery writer. He is best known for creating the series character Professor Craig Kennedy, sometimes called “The American Sherlock Holmes,” and his Dr Watson-like sidekick Walter Jameson, a newspaper reporter, in eighteen detective novels. The bulk of Reeve’s fame is based on the 82 Craig Kennedy stories, published in Cosmopolitan magazine between 1910 and 1918. These were collected in book form; with the third collection, the short stories were stitched together into pseudo-novels. The 12-volume Craig Kennedy Stories came out in 1918; it reissued Reeve’s books-to-date as a matched set.

This Story is called The Confidence King. A counterfeiter has excaped from London to America, now fake bills are showing up all over New York. They catch the man they suspect, but the fingerprints don’t match. He has to be released. Then another completely different man is caught, Kennedy thinks it is the same man. No one believes him, how could a man change himself so completely? Tune in to see if Kennedy has finally met his match.

All people in the world tell nursery tales to their children, and the stories are apt to be like each other everywhere.

All people in the world tell nursery tales to their children, and the stories are apt to be like each other everywhere. A child who has read the Blue and Red and Yellow Fairy Books will find some old friends with new faces in the Pink Fairy Book. Courage, youth, beauty, kindness, have many trials, but they always win the battle; while witches, giants, unfriendly cruel people, are on the losing hand. So it ought to be, and so, on the whole, it is and will be; and that is all the moral of fairy tales. We cannot all be young, alas! and pretty, and strong; but nothing prevents us from being kind, and no kind man, woman, or beast or bird, ever comes to anything but good in these oldest fables of the world.

Reeve (October 15, 1880 – August 9, 1936). Reeve was an American mystery writer who created 82 Craig Kennedy mystery stories. The stories have a very Sherlock Holmes type feel, In fact Kennedy has been referred to as the “American Sherlock Holmes”. Along with his reporter friend, Walter Jameson, Kennedy solves many crimes and unveils mysteries using science.

This book contains twelve of Professor Kennedy’s adventures. The interesting thing about these stories is Kennedy uses newly discovered science from his time period, which we take for granted today. The first story, The Silent Bullet, has everyone wondering how a bullet could kill someone with no noise. Today, silencers on guns are commonplace in movies and on TV. Or as in “The Deadly Tube” featuring the story of a doctor causing his patients much harm with evil x-rays, or the developmnt of the gyroscope for aeroplanes in “The Terror in the Air”.

Each story features a facinating look at life in the early 20th century, and even includes some action along the way.

It’s an all new audiobook. The Poisoned Pen, by Arthur B. Reeve.

Follow the adventures of Professor Craig Kennedy and his assistant Walter Jameson as they track down criminals scientifically.

From Wikipedia:

This Story is called The Poisoned Pen. A doctor is accused of murdering his ex-girlfriend. The letter proving his innocence has mysteroiusly vanished, while another proving his guild in his own hand writing has suddenly appeared. Can Kennedy save the poor doctor? Did he do it?

I love reading to my kids. I know some parents do not have the time to read to their children, or have problems reading. So I am offering bedtime stories, all for free.

This story is The Simpleton from
THE GREY FAIRY BOOK Edited by Andrew Lang

Moscione, who isn’t very bright according to his father, is sent out into the world to seek his fortune. He meets many men along the way and convinces them to join him. They all have special powers, so Moscione thinks they might be useful. They end up in the kingdom of Flower Vale. The King has promised the hand of the princess to any man who can beat her in a foot race. She is very fast, and so far everyone who has tried has lost their head. Can Moscione and his little band win the heart of the princess?

This fairy tale is Rated G. No real moral, but nobody gets killed, just some usual treachery.

Follow the adventures of Professor Craig Kennedy and his assistant Walter Jameson as they track down criminals scientifically.

From Wikipedia:

This Story is called The Artificial Paradise. A father disappears, his daughter is frantic. She wants Craig to find him. Craig decides to try some intense drugs on his way to locating her father. Unfortunately, he is found dead. Or is he?
