It’s an all new audiobook. The Silent Bullet, by Arthur B. Reeve.

Follow the adventures of Professor Craig Kennedy and his assistant Walter Jameson as they track down criminals scientifically.

From Wikipedia:
Arthur Benjamin Reeve (October 15, 1880 – August 9, 1936) was an American mystery writer. He is best known for creating the series character Professor Craig Kennedy, sometimes called “The American Sherlock Holmes,” and his Dr Watson-like sidekick Walter Jameson, a newspaper reporter, in eighteen detective novels. The bulk of Reeve’s fame is based on the 82 Craig Kennedy stories, published in Cosmopolitan magazine between 1910 and 1918. These were collected in book form; with the third collection, the short stories were stitched together into pseudo-novels. The 12-volume Craig Kennedy Stories came out in 1918; it reissued Reeve’s books-to-date as a matched set.

This Story is called The Azure Ring. A young engaged couple is found dead. How did they die? Was it murder or suicide? If it was muder, was it the jealous sister? Was it the old friend who was being sued by the victim? How was it done? The coroner believes it was asphyxiation, but why then is there no trace of it in the room?

The Dice Tower is a podcast about BoardGames. Not your Monopoly and Checkers fare, but REAL boardgames. There are boardgames with real strategy, that are actually fun to play. The Dice Tower is the most listened to boardgame podcast in the world.

I do the interior segment pieces on the show. Eric Summerer does the show intro/outtro and is the co-host. He is a very talented voice artist himself, you can download some of the audiobooks he has narrated at Audible.com.

Tom Vasel is the show’s host. I have never encountered a more knowledgeable person concerning boardgames.

Give the show a listen, you might find a whole new hobby to explore!

This Story is called The Seismograph Adventure. A woman dies during the night, her husband discovers her after the spooky rappings of a ghost on his wall alerts him that there was a problem. Was it Suicide, Murder, or just natural causes? And how will a seismograph help Kennedy discover the truth?

This story is about a Shoemaker who tricks a group of robbers multiple times into giving him their money.

This fairy tale is Rated R. The Shoemaker convinces the robbers to murder their wives, and finally to kill themselves. It is way to horrible for my tastes as far as fairy tales go.

This Story is called The Bacteriological Detective. Typhoid stalks a family across the ocean all the way to New York, killing servents and family members along the way. Can Craig find out why before the beutiful heiress is the next victim? Is it simply fate or a diabolical plot by a nefarious criminal using germs to kill?

Recently I spent a weekend in Los Angeles attending
the “Making the A List” workshop given by Pat Fraley .

Pat has voiced literally hundreds of animated characters, and has most recently appeared as a regular character on the “Til Death” TV series. You can see Pat’s impressive credit list at IMDB

Scott Brick also provided instrucion and direction in audiobook narration at the workshop. Scott is one of the most well known and sought after audiobook narrators in the business. If you have never heard one of his narrations, you are truly missing out. See all he has available at Audible.com

Finally, the great Ed Asner provided acting tips and instruction at the workshop. Most recently Ed performed the voice of Carl Fredrickson in the Pixar animated film “Up”. Ed’s impressive 50 year history of acting is listed at IMDB

It was the best instruction in voice acting I have received. In the morning I spent a session in world famous Buzzy’s Recording Studio with Ed Asner, acting out an animated scene while Pat Fraley provided direction. So very informative, the man was so impressive. I was the first from the class to work with Ed so needless to say I was a bit nervous. But he was great and so was Pat and everything was supurb.

In the early afternoon, I got to work on my audiobook narration skill with Scott Brick and Pat Fraley providing direction. After a shakey start (nerves), I was able to give a performance I could be proud of. Scott commented that I had good natural instincts and was terrific, Pat told me I did a great job. Audiobook narration is my first love and this was the best part ofthe day for me.

In the late afternoon we moved on to commercial work. Pat Fraley directed us in groups of two in an advertisement. So many tips and tecniques were passed to us, that it makes my previous work seem amaturish in comparison. Pat, Scott, and Ed reminded me that it was all about the acting and I thank them for their patient instruction.

I love reading to my kids. I know some parents do not have the time to read to their children, or have problems reading. So I am offering bedtime stories, all for free.

This story is “I know what I have Learned” from
THE PINK FAIRY BOOK Edited by Andrew Lang

This is a story of a father with 3 daughters married to Trolls. He visits them each in turn, and they are nice. They demonstrate a troll ability and give him money. He loses the money from each one, from stupidity, and finally drowns himself again from stupidity. The biggest unanswered question is did the cow ever have its calf?

This fairy tale is Rated PG. The father is dumb and ends up killing himself by jumping in the lake, trying to do what the trolls did. I don’t see the moral here, something to do with not being stupid I assume.

This Story is called The Scientific Cracksman. A man diies, his safe was broken into but nothing was taken. Was there a crime? Why did he die? Who broke into the safe and how?
