Arthur Benjamin Reeve (October 15, 1880 – August 9, 1936) was an American mystery writer. He is best known for creating the series character Professor Craig Kennedy, sometimes called “The American Sherlock Holmes,” and his Dr Watson-like sidekick Walter Jameson, a newspaper reporter, in eighteen detective novels. The bulk of Reeve’s fame is based on the 82 Craig Kennedy stories, published in Cosmopolitan magazine between 1910 and 1918. These were collected in book form; with the third collection, the short stories were stitched together into pseudo-novels. The 12-volume Craig Kennedy Stories came out in 1918; it reissued Reeve’s books-to-date as a matched set.

This Story is called The Firebug. There is an arsonist loose in New York City. The Fire Marshalls can’t figure out who it is or how they start the fires. The ask Craig to investigate, which sends him and Walter on an adventure living and working with the firemen of the city. Six innocent people have already died, can Craig track down the arsonist before the whole city goes up in flames?

This Story is called The Germ of Death. The Russian revolution movement is alive and stong in New York City, but he Czar is out to destroy the revolutionists before they can realize their dream. The leader of the movement in New York has mysteriously taken ill, then a ussian actess, and then the cook. Can Kennedy figure out what is going on before the evolutionists all take ill and die?
