Bedtime Stories: The Wounded Lion

Written by emiller on July 28, 2010 – 6:26 AM -

I love reading to my kids. I know some parents do not have the time to read to their children, or have problems reading. So I am offering bedtime stories, all for free.

This story is The Wounded Lion from
THE PINK FAIRY BOOK Edited by Andrew Lang

This story is about a girl who has no place in the world. She goes to work for a farmer as a cowherd. She finds a wounded lion and saves it, but her cows disappear. So she is tasked to watch the asses, and the same lion is found wounded again, andagain her charges disappear. Who is the lion? Why do her flocks disappear? Is there a mean giant involved?

This fairy tale is Rated PG. There are no murders, but the girl gets beaten several times for losing all the herds.

Bedtime Stories: The Cunning Shoemaker

Written by emiller on June 9, 2010 – 7:32 AM -

I love reading to my kids. I know some parents do not have the time to read to their children, or have problems reading. So I am offering bedtime stories, all for free.

This story is The Cunning Shoemaker from
THE PINK FAIRY BOOK Edited by Andrew Lang

This story is about a Shoemaker who tricks a group of robbers multiple times into giving him their money.

This fairy tale is Rated R. The Shoemaker convinces the robbers to murder their wives, and finally to kill themselves. It is way to horrible for my tastes as far as fairy tales go.
