Bedtime Stories: The Snow Queen

I love reading to my kids. I know some parents do not have the time to read to their children, or have problems reading. So I am offering bedtime stories, all for free.

This story is The Snow Queen from
THE PINK FAIRY BOOK Edited by Andrew Lang

The story is a long one about a boy who gets taken away by the Snow Queen, and the adventures of the girl who sets out to find him.

This fairy tale is Rated G. It has a happy ending, there are some death threats and some coachmen are killed by robbers, but this story is over thirty minutes long and that part is less than a minute. Other than that it is sweet. So maybe Rated G-?

Bedtime Stories: The Three Brothers

I love reading to my kids. I know some parents do not have the time to read to their children, or have problems reading. So I am offering bedtime stories, all for free.

This story is The Three Brothers from
THE PINK FAIRY BOOK Edited by Andrew Lang

The story is of three brothers and their father. The father loves all his sons and doesn’t know who to leave the house to when he dies. He tells the sons to learn a trade, and the one who learns the best would get the house. It is a fairly short story, less than five minutes.

This fairy tale is Rated PG, because at the end the brothers all die. If the story had ended at the happy ending it would have been great, but thry took itr all the way to the end. While it isn’t really bad, it isn’t really happy either.

The story is of a king who can’t have children and blames the quennt. He goes away for a year and tells her to have a child. She sees an old wise woman who helps her have a daughter, but they must not see her before her 14th birthday. Of course, the king does on the last day and she is cursed and dies. Her body is put in a chast and sentries watch over it but all of them disappear. Finally a Smith agrees to watch the chest, then gets scared and tries to get away, but a mysterious little man stops him and tells him what to do to survive the night. He does, there is some scary stuff that happens, the king is happy, he does it two more times, the curse is broken, the girl rises up and is freed from the curse, and they all live happily ever after.

This fairy tale is Rated PG, because there is a scary banshee type ghost in this story. Overall it is actually a pretty good story for a stormy night and has a happy ending.
